Thai, Garcia win singles matches, but John Carroll tops Men's Tennis 7-2

MAYFIELD VILLAGE — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at league-leading John Carroll on Saturday afternoon indoors at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club.
The Polar Bears (2-2 overall, 2-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) got a pair of singles wins from senior Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) and sophomore Matt Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South).
Thai won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Garcia won 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 at No. 5 singles.
JCU swept the doubles courts to lead 3-0 and won four of the six singles matches to secure the win.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday with a road match at Baldwin Wallace
