Men's Tennis tunes up for next week's OAC Tournament with 9-0 victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene in regular season finale

MOUNT VERNON — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a convincing 9-0 victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday at Ramser Tennis Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 14-8, while the Cougars fall to 2-18.
Senior Cody Hurley (Centerville) led ONU with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. He also combined with sophomore Tyler Frantz (Bellefontaine) to win 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Juniors Jake Abbott (Kenton) and Tim Kargl (Downers Grove, Ill./South) and sophomore Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia Academy) also went 2-0 on the day.
Abbott won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles, Christian won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles and the duo combined to win 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Kargl won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and joined sophomore Andrew Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South) to win at No. 1 doubles 8-5.
Freshman Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and freshman Joshua McClure (Mount Vernon) won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 6 singles for ONU.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Tuesday at 4 p.m. when Capital comes to University Courts for a quarterfinal match of the 2018 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
