Men's Tennis clinches spot in OAC Tournament with 9-0 wins over Muskingum, Marietta

MASON — The Ohio Northern men's tennis tesm clinched a spot in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament with a pair of 9-0 victories over Muskingum and Marietta on Saturday at the OAC Tennis Fest at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 11-7 overall and are 5-2 in OAC action.
Muskingum falls to 1-8, 0-6 and Marietta drops to 6-9, 2-4.
Sophomore Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia Academy) posted a 4-0 record on the day to lead ONU.
He was 1-0 at Nos. 1 and 3 singles and combined with junior Jake Abbott (Kenton) to go 2-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Senior Cody Hurley (Centerville) also posted a 2-0 singles record, winning at the Nos. 2 and 5 spots.
Northern has now clinched a spot in the 6-team OAC Tournament and will host a quartwerfinal match on May 1 as eigther the No. 3 or 4 seed.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Sunday with a 9:30 am match against Wittenberg in Mason and wrap up the OAC portion of its schedule on Monday with a road match at Otterbein.
