Joey Frank wins at #1 singles to lead Men's Tennis at Baldwin-Wallace in battle of league unbeatens

NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- Junior Joey Frank won at No. 1 singles to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest at Baldwin-Wallace in a battle of league unbeatens Saturday afternoon at the North Ridgeville Racquet Club.
B-W won two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to win the contest 7-2.
The Polar Bears fall to 8-5 overall and are 6-1 in OAc action, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 22-0, 7-0.
Despite the loss, ONU clinched a home match in the quarterfinals of the OAC Tournament on May 2.
Frank won a tight 7-6(5), 7-6(7) victory at No. 1 singles over Alex Trzeciak.
ONU's doubles win came from seniors Andrew Korba and Mike Kathary at the No. 2 spot by an 8-4 count.
Korba had one of the most exciting singles contests of the day, dropping a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 decision at the No. 5 position.
The Polar Bears will return to action Tuesday with a road contest at Capital.
ONU can clinch the No. 2 seed in the OAC Tournament with a victory against the Crusaders or a win in its regular season finale Saturday at home against Muskingum.
