Saunders named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ADA – Ohio Northern sophomore Josh Saunders was named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 26-April 1.
Saunders finished the week with a 3-1 record, with his only loss coming from Jon Esber of Division II opponent Walsh 6-3 and 6-2 on Wednesday. The team fell 8-1.
Later in the week, he won at No. 4 singles to lead the men's tennis team to a second place finish at Wabash's (Ind.) Kerry Seward Invitational, Saturday and Sunday.
After posting 6-1, 6-2 scores in the first round, and 6-0, 6-3 scores in championship round, Saunders defeated Mike Woolf of Coe (Iowa) in the finals, 6-4, 6-4.
He also teamed up with senior Nick Kowalczyk to post a second place finish at No. 2 doubles.
The Polar Bears will return to conference action Wednesday, April 4, as they travel to face Otterbein.
