Men’s Tennis notches first win of season with 9-0 shutout of Berry (Ga.)

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.—The Ohio Northern men's tennis team picked up their first win of the season with a dominating 9-0 victory over Berry (Ga.) Thursday afternoon at Sanlando Park.
The Polar Bears are now 1-3 on the season while the Vikings fall to 2-4 overall.
ONU won all three doubles courts to begin play.
Sophomore Josh Saunders and Do Thai posted a solid 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Senior Nick Kowalczyk and sophomore Blake Troller won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles over Colby Chapman and Kyle Stapleton.
At No. 1 doubles, junior Joey Frank and senior Michael Kathary won by a 8-4 score.
The Polar Bears continued to roll in singles play.
Frank, Thai and Kowalczyk all won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, No.3 and No. 4 singles respectively.
Saunders dominated at No. 5 singles winning 6-0, 6-0.
Kathary defeated Jonathon Surls at No. 2 singles by a 6-0, 6-3 score.
Senior Andrew Korba completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Friday when they conclude their spring trip against Albion (Mich.) at 9 a.m.
