Men's Tennis fares well at Wittenberg Tournament

SPRINGFIELD — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team competed in the Wittenberg Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Albright Tennis Complex.
There was no scoring for the event.
Every Polar Bear who played picked up at least one victory on the weekend.
Senior Michael Kathary, sophomore Joey Frank, sophomore Do Thai, sophomore Josh Saunders and sophomore Brian Bruin all made the semifinals in their respective flights.
Senior Nick Kowalczyk won the back draw for his singles flight.
In doubles play, Northern made a solid showing.
Kathary and Frank teamed up to defeat Tyler Johnston and Carlos Perez of Ohio Dominican in a thrilling 9-8 (6) victory.
Senior Andrew Korba paired with Thai to post an 8-1 victory over the Wittenberg tandem of Stuart Zorn and Jialang Woo.
Bruin teamed with junior Mike King and notched an 8-3 win over the Wittenberg team of Jonathon Mueller and Joe Marra.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wittenberg for a 5 pm match. They will conclude their fall season with a trip to the regional ITA tournament hosted by Washington University (Mo.) this weekend.
