Men's Tennis runs win streak to six with 8-1 victory at Heidelberg

TIFFIN – The Ohio Northern men's tennis team won its sixth straight team match Tuesday afternoon as it picked up an 8-1 victory at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Heidelberg at the Heidelberg Tennis Courts.
The Polar Bears improve their record to 8-2 overall and 3-0 within the conference while the Student Princes move to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in the OAC
ONU began the afternoon by taking all three of the doubles matches with the duo of Nick Kowalczyk and Joey Frank winning their No. 1 doubles match 8-3 over Bobby Lochotzki and Cliff Goetz.
In No. 2 doubles, Jeff Carter and Andrew Korba had the only shutout on the afternoon as the pairing defeated Patrick Ryan Earl and Miles Yetter 8-0.
Kyle Barnaba and Matt Dutro move to 4-0 as doubles partners this year as they won 8-4 in No. 3 doubles action as they won against Bradley Cerveny and Dylan Booth.
Ohio Northern is now 9-0 in conference doubles matches this season.
In No. 1 singles play, Frank defeated Bobby Lochotzki 6-1, 6-2 to move to 4-0 in No. 1 singles matches this season.
Kowalczyk won his No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-2 over Cliff Goetz.
Carter won his team-high twelfth single match this season when he won 6-1, 6-4 against Bradley Cerveny.
In No. 4 singles action, Korba defeated Dylan Booth 6-2, 6-0 while Kyle Barnaba won his No. 5 singles match 6-3, 6-1 against Patrick Ryan Earl.
The Polar Bears are back in action Thursday as they travel to Wittenberg for a 4:30 pm match.
