Men's Tennis nets 7-2 non-conference road victory at Wooster

WOOSTER – The Ohio Northern men's tennis team won its third consecutive team match with a 7-2 victory at Wooster Tuesday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 5-2 overall this season while the Fighting Scots move to 4-4 overall.
ONU benefited from an important No. 3 doubles victory and took a 2-1 lead into singles play when junior Kyle Barnaba and sophomore Matt Dutro defeated Matt Mandell and Brad Palanski 9-8 (9-7).
Ohio Northern carried on with that momentum by winning five of the six singles matches.
Dutro went to extra sets in his No. 6 singles match as he came back to win 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 1-0 (10-8).
The sophomore duo of Jeff Carter and Andrew Korba defeated Steve Conroy and Sam Susanin 8-1 in No. 2 doubles.
Each picked up a second win on day as Carter won his No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-1 against Ashvin Reddy and Korba defeated Palanski 6-2, 6-0 in his No. 4 singles match.
In No. 1 singles, sophomore Nick Kowalczyk defeated Matt Hoch 7-5, 2-0 after Hoch retired.
Freshman Joey Frank won his No. 2 singles match defeated Mandell 6-3, 6-2.
The Polar Bears travel to Capital on Thursday for a 3:30 pm match.
