Men's Swimming and Diving opens 2024-25 season with 134-67 victory over Wilmington

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team opened its 2024-25 season with a 134-69 victory over Wilmington on Friday night.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (1-0 Overall, 1-0 OAC), Wilmington (0-2 Overall, 0-2 OAC)
- Venue: ONU Sports Center Natatorium - Ada, Ohio.
Meet Highlights
- Senior Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas) won the 100-yard free in :49.94.
- Senior Holden Cubberley (Celina) swept the diving competitions unopposed. He scored 217.15 to win the 1-meter and 288.45 to win the 3-meter.
- Junior Selby Wilt (Findlay) won the 50 free in :23.66.
- Junior Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder) won the 50 breast in 27.43.
- The 200 medley relay squad of junior Simon Bopple (Cleveland/Shaker Heights), freshman Grayson Morgan (Clyde), freshman Chase McCluskey (Pickerington/North) and Horgan started the meet by winning in 1:38.44.
- The 200 free relay team of Clark, senior Aiden Magoolaghan (Hinckley/Highland), McCluskey and Horgan won in 1:28.00.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 12 events, including 8 individual races, two relays and two diving events.
- Northern won swept the diving and relay events and won three individual races.
- The meet was originally scheduled for Oct. 18, but was postponed to Oct. 25.
- Austin Veltman is 32-17 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
