Men's Swimming and Diving defeats Bluffton, falls to Wooster in tri-meet

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team defeated Bluffton 192-7 but fell 137-94 to Wooster in a home tri-meet on Friday night.

Meet Highlights
- Freshman Nathan Herbert (Medina/Highland) won three events. He placed first in the 1,000 free in 10:30.77, the 200 free in 1:48.60 and the 500 free in 4:57.16.
- Junior Holden Cubberley (Celina) swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events. He won the 1-meter competition with 288.45 points for six dives and won the 3-meter event with 306.55 points for six dives.
- The team of sophomores Isaac Reddy (Maryland Heights, Mo./Pattonville) and Aiden Magoolaghan (Hinckley/Highland) and juniors Brandon Parkins (DuPont, Wash./Steilacoom) and Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas) won the 400 free relay in 3:18.50.
- Horgan added a second-place finish in the 100 free in :49.05, and Reddy was second in the 50 free in :22.33.
- Sophomore Tyler Edmonds (Youngsville, La./Southside) finished second to Herbert in the 500 free in 5:06.06.
- Sophomore Long Huynh placed third in the 400 IM in 4:31.15 and in the 200 fly in 2:00.81.
- Huynh, Horgan, Parkins and sophomore Simon Bopple (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) placed third in the 400 medley relay in 3:43.08.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 13 events, including nine individual races, two relays and two diving events.
- The meet is the seventh of 11 regular-season contests for Ohio Northern.
- Austin Veltman is now 28-15 in his sixth season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
