Men’s Swimming and Diving posts 11 first-place finishes, tops Baldwin Wallace 171-65 on Senior Day

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team posted 11 first-place finishes in a 171-65 win over Baldwin Wallace on Saturday's Senior Day at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while dropping the Yellow Jackets to 8-3, 2-1.
Senior Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) posted a pair of victories, winning the 1,000 free in 10:14.88 and the 500 free in 4:57.14.
Sophomore Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas) won the 50 free in :21.61 and the 100 free in :47.82.
Horgan was also part of the first-place 200 free relay team, joining freshmen Selby Wilt (Findlay), Carter Detweiler (Newton, Pa./Council Rock) and Aiden Magoolaghan (Hinckley/Highland) to finish in a time of 1:27.91.
Wilt added a second-place finish in the 100 free in :48.00.
Detweiler won the 200 free in 1:46.20 and was second in the 500 free in 5:03.16.
Fifth-year senior Jackson Stanley (Beavercreek) won the 100 fly in :51.05 and joined Wilt, freshman Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder) and junior Charlie Spyker (Harrod/Shawnee) on the first-place 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:37.00.
Clark added a first-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.84, and freshman Simon Bopple won the 100 back in :55.33.
Sophomore Holden Cubberley (Celina) won the 1-meter diving with 296.15 points and was second in the 3-meter diving with 272.50 points.
Freshman Isaac Reddy (Maryland Heights, Mo./Pattonville) was second in the 50 free in :22.64, freshman Tyler Edmonds (Youngsville, La./Southside) was second in the 400 IM in 4:25.65, and sophomore Vincent Morando (Mansfield/Lexington) was second in the 100 breast in 1:04.48.
The 200 free relay team of Reddy, sophomores Noah Shaw (Port Clinton) and Brandon Parkins (DuPont, Wash./Steilacoom) and freshman Max Etheridge (Ashley/Rutherford B. Hayes) finished second with a time of 1:32.07.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday for a home dual meet against Grove City (Pa.).
