Two more school records fall, Cubberley named Men's Diver of the Year as Ohio Northern finishes second on final day of 2022 Men's OAC Swimming and Diving Championships

AKRON — Two more school records fell Saturday night as the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team posted a second place finish on the final day of the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Ocasek Natatorium.
Freshman Holden Cubberley (Celina) broke the school record in the 3-meter diving competition with 500.75 points for 11 dives. He surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut and broke the previous record of 493.00 set by Braden Kuhn in 2018.
He had already qualified for the NCAA III Central Regionals next weekend at Grand Rapids, Mich. with his "B" Cut effort in the 1-meter diving event on Friday.
Cubberley was named the OAC Men's Diver of the Year for his efforts.
Senior Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) broke a school record and had a "B" Cut in two different events on Saturday.
He earned All-OAC kudos in the 200 breast with a second place finish in 2:04.39, surpassing the NCAA "B" Cut in the event.
His leadoff time of :45.81 in the 400 free relay edged the previous school record of :45.84 by Eric Chen in 2016.
Adams, freshman Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas), sophomore Ben Lacey (Lebanon) and senior Mike Lewandowski (Shelby Township, Mich./Eisenhower) earned All-OAC honors by finishing second in the relay in 3:07.61.
Junior Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) earned All-Conference accolades in the 1650 free for the second consecutive year, posting a second place finish in 16:23.80.
Sophomore Evan Sailor (Goshen, Ind.) was named All-Conference in the 3-meter diving, finishing third with 370.45 points.
The Polar Bears finished second with 671.5 points in the 20 events.
John Carroll won the team title with 1037 points, Mount Union was third with 664, Baldwin Wallace was fourth with 383.5 and Wilmington was fifth with 253.
The top three finishers in individual events and top two finishers in relays earn All-Conference honors.
