Freshman Ben Lacey wins 200 fly, leads Men's Swimming and Diving on final day of OAC Championships

GENEVA — Freshman Ben Lacey (Lebanon) won the 200 fly to lead Ohio Northern on the third asn final day of the 2021 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at the SPIRE Institute.
The Polar Bears finished third of five teams at the three-day meet with 651 points in the 20 events.
Lacey was All-Conference in two events on Saturday.
He won the 200 fly in 1:51.60 and joined junior Mike Lewandowski (Shelby Township, Mich./Eisenhower), junior Justin DeLano (Englewood/Northmont) and junior Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) to finish second in the 400 free relay in 3:07.01.
Adams and senior Patrick Reed (Charleston, W.Va./Washington) finished second and third in the 200 breast in 2:04.32 and 2:05.12, respectively, to earn All-OAC honors.
Sophomore Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) was third in the 1650 free in 16:19.56 to earn All-Conference accolades.
The top three in the individual events and the top two relay teams earn All-Conference accolades.
John Carroll won the team title with 1,020 points. Mount Union was second with 717 points, Baldwin Wallace was fourth with 317 and Wilmington was fifth with 265 points.
