Adams, Cope, Lacey earn All-Conference honors on Day 1 of OAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships

GENEVA — Junior Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer), sophomore Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and freshman Ben Lacey (Lebanon) all earned All-Conference honors in individual events on the first day of the 2021 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday at the SPIRE Institute.
The Polar Bears are in third place after day one of the three-day meet with 160 points through five of 20 events.
Adams was second in the 200 I.M. in 1:55.12.
The top three in the indididual events and the top two relay teams earn All-Conference accolades.
Cope touched third in the 500 free in 4:41.02 and Lacey was third in the 50 free in :20.89.
Adams also anchored the 400 medley relay team that finished second in 3:25.40.
Junior Justin DeLano (Englewood/Northmont), senior Patrick Reed (Charleston, W.Va./Washington) and junior Jackson Stanley (Beavercreek) joined Adams on the All-Conference podium.
Seven more events will be contested on Friday with prelims beginning at 10 am and finals at 6 pm.
The final eight events will be on Sunday with prelims also beginning at 10 am and finals at 6 pm.
