Men's Swimming & Diving opens 2021 season with 211-63 victory over Wilmington

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team opened its 2021 season with a 211-63 victory over Wilmington at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-0 overall and are 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Quakers fall to 0-1, 0-1.
Junior Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) and freshman Ben Lacey (Lebanon) each won four events to lead ONU.
Individually, Adams won the 200 free in 1:46.34, the 100 breast in 1:00.06 and the 200 I.M. in 2:03.68 and Lacey won the 100 fly in :28.13 and the 100 free in :48.55.
The duo combined with junior Justin DeLano (Englewood/Northmont) and junior Jackson Stanley (Beavercreek) to win the 200 medley relay in 1:38.45.
Lacey wrapped up the meet with DeLano and freshman Charlie Spyker (Harrod/Shawnee) and freshman Patrick Wellman (Dublin/Jerome) to win the 400 free relay in 3:22.28.
Delano also won the 100 back in :54.82 for his third win and Stanley was a double-winner by taking the 50 fly in :24.12.
Junior Mike Lewandowski (Shelby Township, Mich./Eisenhower) won the 50 free in :22.77.
Sophomore Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) won the 1,000-yard free in 10:35.90.
Freshman Jarret Schaffer (Norwalk/St Paul) won the 50 breast in :27.62.
Freshman Evan Sailor (Goshen, Ind.) won the 3-meter diving unopposed with 265.20 poiunts for 11 dives.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday when they host Baldwin Wallace on Senior Day.
