Men’s Swimming & Diving falls to John Carroll

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming & diving team fell to John Carroll 197-83 Saturday at the ONU Sports Center. The loss drops the Polar Bears to 1-1 on the season, while the win improves the Blue Streaks to 1-0 on the year.
Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) led the way for ONU, claiming first in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 58.07. Adams also won the 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley with times of 2:10.73 and 2:00.58, respectively.
Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) kept things rolling for Northern, winning the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:08.89. He also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle, recording a time of 4:52.86.
The 200-yard medley relay team — of Ryan Groehl (Marysville), Adams, Jackson Stanley (Beavercreek) and Zach Ayres (Chillicothe) — placed runner-up with a time of 1:36.36.
Stanley also touched second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.50, and finished third in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:03.58.
Noah Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) took third in the 200-yard freestyle, registering a time of 1:50.28, while also placing third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.26.
Justin DeLano (Englewood/Northmont) finished third in the 200-yard backstroke, logging a time of 2:02.69.
The Polar Bears travel to take part in the Calvin (Mich.) quad Nov. 8 and 9.
