Men's Diving: Ohio Northern at NCAA III Central Regional Diving Championships

This Weekend's Championships: Senior Braden Kuhn will represent Ohio Northern at the 2018 NCAA Division III Central Region Diving Championships at the University of Chicago's Myers-McLoraine Pool ... The men's 1-meter diving will be held at 6 pm (CST) on Friday and the 3-meter diving will be held at 4 pm (CST) on Saturday ... A total of 80 divers will compete in four Regional Championships, with 24 divers (out of the 80) advancing to the NCAA III Championships March 21-24 in Indianapolis ... There are 27 divers registered to compete in the men's 1-meter and 24 divers registered to compete in the men's 3-meter competitions ... It is expected that eight divers will qualify out of the Chicago Regional, as Regional allocations are awarded proportionally according to the number of entrants in each region ... Kuhn surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut on both boards, earning All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades in both events ... He set a school record with a 493.00 score on the 3-meter board and scored 456.05 points on the 1-meter board ... Kuhn won OAC titles on both boards and was the OAC Men's Diver of the Year in 2016.
ONU head coach Peggy Ewald: Ewald is in her 14th season at ONU and is the program's all-time winningest coach with a 107-43 men's dual meet record, a winning percentage of .713. She has been named OAC Men's Coach of the Year eight times and guided the Polar Bear men to 12 consecutive OAC Championships crowns from 2005-16 and 11 OAC Regular Season titles, including 10 straight from 2007-16.
