Men's Swimming & Diving in fourth place after Day 1 of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER - Senior Eric Chen (Mason) won the 200 I.M. to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming & diving team on the first day of the three-day Wooster Invitational on Thursday.
The Polar Bears are sitting in 4th place of 9 teams after Day 1 of the three-day meet with 358 points. Case Western Reserve is in 1st place after five events with 423 points.
Chen won the 200 I.M. in 1:54.61.
Freshman Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) set a school record in the 200 back, posting a 1:53.70 in a non-scoring time trial.
He also took fourth in the 200 I.M. in 1:56.68 and senior John Raker (Lebanon/Lakota West) placed fifth in 1:56.94.
Chen joined junior Ian Simpson (Strongsville), senior Thomas Golba (Kettering/Alter) and senior Logan Pfeifer (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) for a third place finish in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:24.79.
The 400 medley relay team of Huey, sophomore Anthony Ferrell (Canton/Glen Oak), sophomore Pete He (Mason) and Chen placed second in 3:28.30.
Northern returned to the pool today at 11 am for Day 2 of the Wooster Invitational.
