Swimming and Diving Teams to Open 2016-17 Season on October 15

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's swimming and diving teams will open their 2016-17 seasons on Oct. 15 under 13th-year head coach Peggy Ewald.

The Polar Bear swimmers will compete at the Kenyon Relays and the Divers will compete at the Denison Diving meet that Saturday.

Northern will begin the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of its season by hosting Wilmington on Oct. 28 at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.

ONU will host three other home meets during the season: Nov. 11 with Mount Union, Nov. 12 with Oberlin and Jan. 20 with Baldwin Wallace.

The 2017 OAC Championships are slated for Feb. 16-18 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.

The NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for March 15-18 at the CISD Sports Complex in Shanandoah, Tex.

The Polar Bear men won their 12th consecutive OAC Championships title and the ONU women finished third at the OAC Championships meet in 2015-16.
