Helaina Sacco named assistant Swimming & Diving coach

ADA — Helaina Sacco has been named as an assistant men's and women's swimming & diving coach at Ohio Northern.
She comes to Ohio Northern from the University of Mary Washington (Va.) where she spent the 2014-2015 season as the assistant men's and women's swim coach.
At Mary Washington, she helped coach the women's team to their 25th consecutive conference title and the men to their 15th consecutive conference championship.
Sacco worked with all members of the team and helped to run many administrative aspects of both programs.
Prior to her stint at Mary Washington, Sacco spent a year as an academic support intern for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
At UAB she provided academic counseling, support services and monitored the academic progress of the women's tennis, women's soccer, and men's tennis teams.
Sacco swam for four years for the University of Maine, where she graduated with honors in 2012 with a BA in Sociology. In 2013 she earned her MS degree in the Sociology of Sport from Loughborough University in England.
