Men's Swimming & Diving clinches 9th consecutive OAC Regular Season title with 180-39 victory over BW on Senior Day

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team clinched its 9th consecutive OAC Regular Season title on Senior Day with a 180-39 victory over Baldwin Wallace Saturday at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-1 overall and finish 4-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet action, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-7, 0-3.
ONU has now won seven straight and is 9-2 in the Golden Kickboard trophy series with Baldwin Wallace, which began in 2005.
The Polar Bears win the OAC Regular Season title outright after Wilmington upset Mount Union 104-101 on Saturday.
Ohio Northern also extended its OAC regular season winning streak to 29 matches.
The Polar Bears won 11 of the 12 events, led by sophomore John Raker.
Raker won the 200 I.M. in 2:03.70 and won the 500 free in 5:00.07.
Seven other Polar Bears won one event each.
Senior Jason Luthman won the 100 breast in 1:02.09.
Junior Mitchell Murphy won the 50 free in :22.65.
Sophomores Eric Chen, Jeremy Preston and Logan Pfeifer also won events.
Chen won the 200 free in 1:48.75, Preston won the 100 fly in :54.61 and Pfeifer won the 100 free in :48.86.
A pair of freshmen also won events for ONU as Braden Kuhn won the 1-meter diving with 167.75 points and Ian Simpson won the 100 back in :56.04.
ONU swept the two relays, winning the 400 medley relay in 3:40.08 and the 400 free relay in 3:20.16.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season with a dual meet at Case Western Reserve on Jan. 24.
