ADA — Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving coach Peggy Ewald is adding another international accomplishment to her resume.

She is serving on the sports science staff for Team USA at the 2013 International Paralympics Committee World Championships Aug. 12-18 in Montreal.  

Ewald will do biomechanical taping & race analysis for the team and help with team logistics during the World Championships.

She has a very long list of international experience with the USA Paralympic team, having served as head coach for the for the 2007 ParaPanAm Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and the head coach for the 2009 Youth ParaPanAm Games in Bogota, Columbia.

She also served as as assistant coach in 2010 for Team USA at the World Championships in the Netherlands, as a team leader for the 2011 ParaPan Am Games Team in Guadalajara, Mexico, served as an assistant coach for the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China, was an assistant team leader for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, England.

In her nine seasons at the helm of Ohio Northern's men's and women's swimming and diving programs, Ewald guided the men's team to Ohio Athletic Conference Championships titles in each of those nine years and the women's team to the 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2007 OAC titles.

The Polar Bear men have won eight OAC Regular Season Championships and have had 12 OAC Swimmers of the Year, 78 OAC Individual titles, 30 OAC relay titles, 10 NCAA All-Americans and 17 Academic All-OAC honorees.

The ONU women have won eight OAC Regular Season crowns and have had four OAC Swimmers of the Year, 57 OAC Individual titles, 30 OAC relay titles, three Scholar Academic All-Americans, four Scholar All-American Teams and 34 Academic All-OAC honorees.

She was named the OAC Men's Coach of the Year in '12, '11, '10, '09, '08 and '05 and the OAC Women's Coach of the Year in '12, '11, '09, '07 and '06.

Her squads have set 126 school records during her tenure.
