Polar Bears set to compete at 2013 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Wed.-Sat. in Shenandoah, Tex.

ADA — Senior Marc Anderson, junior Jordan Breitigam, junior Christian Garlock and senior Drew Keriazes will represent Ohio Northern at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday-Saturday at the Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Tex.
The four men qualified in the 200 medley relay, where they rank 12th nationally with an ONU record time of 1:31.05.
Breitigam also qualified in three individual events.
He is seeded seventh in the 200 fly in 1:49.08, is 12th in the 200 I.M. in 1:51.20 and 18th in the 100 fly in :49.24.
All three times are ONU records.
Keriazes will also compete in the 200 I.M., the 100 breast and the 200 breast, as he surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut efforts in each.
He is seeded 36th in the 200 I.M. in 1:53.50, is 15th in the 100 breast in a school record :56.54 and is 29th in the 200 breast in a school record 2:06.24.
Anderson also bettered the NCAA "B" Cut in the 100 fly and is seeded 38th in :50.30.
The Polar Bears will also compete in the 400 medley relay, the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay, as ONU met the NCAA "B" Cut in each.
Once selected to participate in the meet, swimmers can compete (if they wish) in any event in which they bettered the NCAA "B" Cut.
On Wednesday, Breitigam and Keriazes will compete in the 200 I.M. and the team will compete in the 200 medley relay.
On Thursday, the men will compete in the 200 free relay before Breitigam and Anderson compete in the 100 fly.
They will then compete in the 400 medley relay.
Friday will see just two individual event for the Polar Bears, as Breitigam will swim the 200 fly and Keriazes will swim the 100 breast.
Saturday's final day of competition will include Keriazes in the 200 breast and the 400 free relay.
The prelims are slated for 10 am (CDT) each day with the top 16 advancing to the finals each night beginning at 6 pm (CDT).
The top eight in each event will earn All-America honors with finishers 9-16 earning Honorable Mention All-America kudos.
The Polar Bears posted an 10-2 record and won their ninth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference title in 2012-13 under ninth-year head coach Peggy Ewald.
