No. 17 Men's Swimming and Diving tops Findlay and Defiance

ADA--The No. 17 Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team beat both the University of Findlay 107.5-66.5 and Defiance College 242-7 on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
With the win the Polar Bears move to a perfect 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the OAC, while the Oilers fall to 0-4 and the Yellow Jackets are 0-9.
The Polar Bears won all but two events on their way to victory, sweeping the Freestyle events.
Freshman Zack Martin won the 1000 Free with a time of 10:37.82, while freshman Jacob Croasdell won the 500 Free in 5:06.78 and the 50 Free in 23.08.
Junior John Beaschler won the 200 Free in 1:49.61 and freshman Mitchell Murphy won the 100 Free in 51.78.
Sophomore Brian Heilbronner won the 100 Butterfly with a time of 54.26.
Three more freshman picked up victories with Fabio Napolitano Jacob winning the 100 Backstroke in 55.69, Connor Wood winning the 200 Breaststroke in 2:18.78 and Tyler Lucian picking up a win in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:37.08.
Junior Kyle Rex won both the 1 meter and 3 meter diving with scores of 232.7 and 215.35 respectively.
Ohio Northern won both relays with seniors Max McClary and Marc Anderson, Beaschler and Wood winning the 400 Medley Relay in 3:38.18.
Heilbronner, sophomore Chris Hoffman and seniors Kevin Piccirilli and Jeff Zeleznik won the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:22.57.
"It has been a rough week for our team because of sickness, but I'm proud of the way we stepped up tonight," said head coach Peggy Ewald. "The guys got to swim what they wanted so it was a fun meet for them.
The Polar Bears will be in the pool again in January when they head to Arizona for their winter training.
