Junior Drew Keriazes named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week
ADA — Ohio Northern junior Drew Keriazes has been named the OAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 9-15.
Keriazes won four individual events and six events overall as No. 16-ranked Ohio Northern won at Oberlin 144-99 Friday and clinched at least a share of its sixth consecutive OAC Regular Season title with a 226.5-67.5 victory over Mount Union on Saturday.
ONU is undefeated this season with a perfect 9-0 record and is 4-0 in OAC dual meet action.
The Polar Bears have won 24 consecutive OAC regular season dual meets, dating to the 2007 season.
This marks the second time in his career that Keriazes has won the honor.
Against Mount Union, Keriazes won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley with times of 1:00.64, 2:14.23 and 2:01.38 respectively.
Keriazes also helped the 400 medley relay team take a first place finish with a time of 3:36.88.
At Oberlin, Keriazes won the 200 I.M. in 2:02.08 and was part of ONU's winning 200 medlay relay in 1:38.47.
The Polar Bears have a big weekend coming up with a road meet at No. 1-ranked Kenyon Friday night and a road meet at Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday with the Golden Kickboard trophy and the outright OAC Regular Season title on the line.
