Schultz garners second OAC Swimmer of the Week award of the 2011-12 season

ADA — Senior All-American Michael Schultz has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for Nov. 28 through Dec. 4.

This is Schultz's second OAC Swimmer of the Week honor this season, as he also earned it the week of Nov. 14.

At last week's Wooster Invitational, Schultz led the Polar Bears with two victories, two NCAA "B" Cuts and three top-10 finishes at the meet.

Schultz won the 500 free and the 1,650 free in NCAA "B" Cut times of 4:36.86 and 16:05.63, respectively.

He also finished second in the 200 free in 1:42.08 and was part of two ONU relay teams that posted second place finishes.

Northern finished second of 10 teams at the Invitational with 1456.5 points.

Next up for the Polar Bears is a home meet on Saturday against Defiance; the first event is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
