Men's Swimming & Diving remain undefeated following 208-86 win over Wooster
ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team moved to 3-0 overall following a 208-86 victory over Wooster on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports center.
The Fighting Scots fall to 0-2 on the season.
The Polar Bears had 11 first-place finishes on their way to victory, led by seniors Michael Schultz, Anders Samuelson, Nick Meyer and junior Drew Keriazes, who all earned two individual firsts.
Schultz won the 1000 and 500 Free in 10:03.79 and 4:51.41, respectively.
Samuelson won the 200 and 100 Free in 1:48.35 and 49.32.
Meyer took first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving with scores of 249.55 and 264.20.
Keriazes won the 200 Breast in 2:14.56 and the 400 I.M. in 4:21.56.
Some of the younger Polar Bears contributed to the win as well.
Sophomore Jordan Breitigam won the 200 Fly in 1:58.65 and sophomore Christian Garlock took first in the 50 Free in 22.28.
The Polar Bears ended the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The team consisting of junior Marc Anderson, sophomore John Beaschler, Samuelson and Garlock won in 1:28.89.
Head coach Peggy Ewald said "it was a great win and it was good to find out where our freshmen are so we can work on them getting up to conference level."
Ohio Northern will look to stay undefeated as they travel to Hillsdale, Mich., to take on Olivet next Friday.
