Men's Swimming & Diving looks for seventh straight OAC title
ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming & diving team (9-3, 4-0 OAC) is idle as it prepares for the 2011 OAC Championships Thu.-Sat. at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
ONU won its fifth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title with a perfect 4-0 league record in 2010-11.
The Polar Bears have won the past six OAC Championships titles.
Northern features six OAC Champions on its roster, led by senior 8-time OAC Champion Garrett Dauch.
Dauch is the two-time OAC Champion in the 100 fly and has won OAC titles as part of six ONU relay teams.
Junior Ryan Bender is a 7-time OAC Champion. He is the two-time defending OAC Champion in the 200 back and has won titles in the 200 I.M., the 400 I.M. and as a part of three relay teams.
Junior Anders Samuelson is a 6-time OAC Champion as part of relay squads.
Sophomore Andrew Keriazes won four OAC crowns last season, sweeping the breast events, winning the 200 I.M. and as part of ONU's winning 400 medley relay teams.
Senior Casey Davis was part of the 2010 OAC Champion 800 free relay team and junior Joey Bechtel is the defending OAC Champion in the 100 back.
Sophomore Max McClary is the top seed in the 100 back, sophomore Marc Anderson is the top seed in the 100 fly and freshman Erik Arent is the top seed in the 200 fly.
