ADA — Ohio Northern junior Lucas Hickey (Conroe, Tex./Oak Ridge) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Midstream Lighting, for the week of Oct. 2-8.
This marks Hickey's second consecutive OAC Player of the Week accolade and the second of his career.
The recognition comes after he played all 180 minutes and recorded a combined three saves in a 1-1 draw with Otterbein on Wednesday and a 3-2 win at Capital on Saturday.
An All-OAC Second Team selection last season, Hickey has played the entirety of all of ONU's 12 games this year and has a 1.25 GAA with 23 saves, a .605 save percentage and two shutouts. He enters the week ranked fourth in the OAC in GAA.
The Polar Bears (6-4-2 overall, 2-0-1 OAC) return to action on Wednesday at Heidelberg at 4 p.m. followed by hosting Saturday's OAC Game of the Week against John Carroll at 1 p.m.
