Six Polar Bears named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team

ADA — Six Ohio Northern student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team for the 2022 season.
Fifth-year senior Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central), senior Jeff Firestone (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), junior Cade Winchester (Knoxville, Tenn./Alcoa) and sophomores Tanner Locke (Canton, Mich./Salem), Ashton Ochsner (Floyds Knobs, Ind./Floyd Central) and Noah Zebrak (Cleveland/St. Ignatius) were each named Academic All-District.
This marks the first career CSC Academic All-District accolade for all six student-athletes.
Earlier this season, King was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team as the conference's Midfielder of the Year for the second straight year. A five-time All-OAC selection, including a four-time First Team pick, King recorded at least one point in all nine of ONU's conference games this season and was selected to the OAC All-Tournament Team for the second time in his career. He currently has 22 points on seven goals and eight assists in 2022.
A pharmacy major, King has started 94 of his 95 career games at ONU, including all 21 this season, and ranks sixth all-time in points (107) and assists (29) and seventh in goals (39).
Firestone, a mechanical engineering major and two-time Academic All-OAC selection, is a three-year letterman who has appeared in 48 career games for the Polar Bears. The midfielder has played in 16 games this season and has one career goal.
Winchester has played in all 21 of ONU's games this season, including 11 starts. The midfielder and sport management major earned Academic All-OAC honors in 2021 and has 10 points on four goals and two assists in 2022. In 43 career games, including 14 starts, Winchester has tallied 15 points on six goals and three assists.
Ochsner, another midfielder, scored his first career goal this season during which he has played in 18 games, including six starts. A mechanical engineering major, Ochsner has played in 35 career games with 12 starts.
Locke and Zebrak are two key members of the ONU defense that has produced seven shutouts this season.
An exercise physiology major, Zebrak earned All-OAC Second Team honors this season and has started all 21 games, posting five points on two goals and one assist. In 27 career games, he has three goals and one assist for seven points.
Locke started all 15 games in which he played this season, recording one goal and one assist. The business major has started 29 of his 30 career games at ONU and has 10 points on two goals and six assists.
The CSC Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
First, Second and Third Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
Winners of two straight NCAA Tournament games via penalty kicks, the Polar Bears (13-3-5 overall) return to action on Saturday to face Williams (Mass.) in a third-round matchup at Kenyon.
