Men’s Soccer earns College Team Academic Award from United Soccer Coaches

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team has earned the College Team Academic Award from United Soccer Coaches for the 2021-22 academic year.
The award recognizes collegiate soccer teams for their exemplary performance in the classroom.
The Polar Bears ended the year with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.23 under third-year head coach Chris Matejka.
A total of 783 soccer teams (295 men and 488 women) across all divisions posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher in 2021-22, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.
The Polar Bears boasted nine Acdemic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selections and five Academic All-Ohio honorees in 2021.
On the field, ONU finished 11-7-3 overall, including 5-3-1 in the OAC, during the 2021 season and advanced to the semifinals of the OAC Tournament.
The Polar Bears open their 2022 season on Sept. 1 at Kenyon.
