Senior John Lombardo named OAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior John Lombardo (Solon) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 25-31.
In two games last week, Lombardo recorded seven saves and allowed two goals.
On Wednesday at No. 8 Otterbein, he registered four saves and allowed two goals, preserving a 2-2 tie.
On Saturday, he recorded a three-save shutout helping the Polar Bears clinch the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the OAC Tournament in a 2-0 win at Mount Union.
Lombardo ranks third in school history with 24 shutouts.
Lombardo has a 1.02 GAA and a .747 save percentage on the season.
This marks Lombardo's third career OAC Player of the Week honor, previously winning as a freshman in 2018 and a sophomore in 2019.
The Polar Bears open the first round of the OAC Tournament against fifth-seeded Marietta on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
