ADA — Junior Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) scored two goals and junior Seth Gundlach (Wilmington) had a goal and two assists to lead the Ohio Northern men's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Muskingum on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-1-1 overall and are 1-1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Muskies fall to 0-3-0, 0-3-0.
King and senior Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) scored 12 seconds apart in the 29th minute as Northern led 2-0 at intermission.
King scored 1:48 into the second half to put ONU up 3-0 and Gundlach and junior Bryan Kern (Rocky River) scored 1:32 apart to give the hosts a 5-0 lead with 54:47 gone in the contest.
Ohio Northern out-shot Muskigum 21-5.
Sophomore Josh Ellis (Whitehouse/Anthony Wayne) had a four-save shutout in his first career start.
The polar Bears will take to the road on Thursday for a 7 pm contest at Wilmington.
