Late own goal lifts Black to 3-2 victory in 18th annual Orange-Black Series Men's Soccer match

ADA — The Black team benefitted from an own goal with 2:28 left in the match to post a 3-2 win over the Orange squad in the 18th annual Orange-Black Series men's soccer contest on Friday night at Kerscher Stadium.
Junior Djubril Fall (Springboro) took a pass from sophomore Aaron Shelton (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon) into the corner and sent a cross into the box, where a sliding Orange defender redirected the ball into the goal in an attempt to clear.
Senior Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) evened the match at 2-2 for the Orange team by converting a penalty kick with 29:00 left in the match.
The two teams traded goals quickly in the match as sophomore Duante George (Bellefontaine) scored off an assist from senior Josh Grant (Westerville/North) to put Orange ahead just 2:33 into the contest.
Junior Bryan Kern (Rocky River) got the equalizer a mere 1:25 later off an assist from junior Seth Gundlach (Wilmington) at the 3:58 mark.
Senior Sergio Bugarin (Murrieta, Cal./Murrieta Valley) gave Orange a 2-1 lead in the 59th minute, scoring on a nifty header off a cross from freshman Cade Winchester (Louisville, Tenn./Alcoa) with 31:19 to play.
Black again answered quickly as Yoder's tying goal came 2:19 later.
Black out-shot Orange 23-8.
