Aaron Shelton scores the match-winner with 37 seconds left to lead White past Black 2-1 in Kerscher Kup Men's Soccer Series

ADA —Sophomore Aaron Shelton (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon) scored the winning goal with 37 seconds left in the match to lead the White Team to a 2-1 victory over the Black Team in match #3 of the Kerscher Kup men's soccer series on a wet Wednesday night at Kerscher Stadium.
The White squad improves to 2-0-1, while Black falls to 0-2-1.
The rosters were changed somewhat from the first two matches, but 14 players are tied for the top spot in the individual standings with 15 points each. A complete list of the standings can be found at the Kerscher Kup site link.
Black appeared to be headed for its first victory in the series when junior Bryan Kern (Rocky River) scored off an assist from junior Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) to take a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute.
Freshman Ryan Augustine (Gibsonia, Pa./North Catholic) scored the equalizer for White, assisted by senior Beelal Hasan (Westerville/Worthington) in the 69th minute of the 80-minute contest.
Senior Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) fired a smart cross to Shelton, who beat the goalie with a sliding one-touch shot into the far corner of the net to win the match.
White out-shot Black 18-12 in the contest.
The next scheduled match is slated for Oct. 28 at 4 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
