White tops Black in shootout in round two of Kerscher Kup Men's Soccer series

ADA — The White squad gave up a late equalizer, but prevailed in penalty kicks 4-1 to edge the Black team in the second match in the men's soccer Kerscher Kup series on Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
Junior Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central), seniors Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) and Beelal Hasan (Worthington) and sophomore Jeffrey Firestone (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview-Heights) all scored in the penalty kick round for the White team.
The teams were tied at 1-1 after 80 minutes of play.
Firestone scored in regulation for White in the 57th minute off an assist from sophomore Aaron Shelton (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon).
Black tied the match with just 3:29 left in the match when freshman Ryan Augustine (Gibsonia, Pa./North Catholic) scored off an assist from sophomore Jacob Westerkamp (Beavercreek).
Junior John Lombardo (Solon) had four saves in regulation and stopped two of three shots in the penalty kicks for White.
The third and fourth matches in the series will be this Wednesday and Saturday at 7 pm with the final match slated for Oct. 28 at 4 pm.
