White scores three first half goals to defeat Black 3-1 in opening game of Kerscher Kup Men's Soccer series

ADA — The White squad scored two first half goals and posted a 3-1 victory over the Black team in the opening match of the men's soccer Kerscher Kup series on Wednesday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
Senior Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge), freshman Zachary Cline (Ashville/Teays Valley) and senior Beelal Hasan (Worthington) all scored as White built a 3-0 lead 50 minutes into the 80-minute contest.
Sophomore Jacob Westerkamp (Beavercreek) scored in the 60th minute to bring the Black team within 3-1.
Despite sustained pressuer over the final 20 minutes, the White defense held the score at 3-1.
Black enjoyed a 18-12 advantage in shots, including a 14-6 mark in the second half.
The second match will be on Saturday at 4 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
