Senior Luke Fickenworth named Second Team Academic All-America in Men's Soccer by CoSIDA

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Luke Fickenworth (Cincinnati/Anderson) has been named Second Team Academic All-America in men's soccer for 2019 by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Fickenworth, a back majoring in pharmacy, is the 12th Ohio Northern men's soccer player to earn the honor.
He is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and was named Honorable Mention All-OAC this year.
This season, Fickenworth has three goals, one assists and seven points.He has played in 53 matches with 34 starts on defense in his career with five goals and 11 points.
He scored the match-winning goal in the 83rd minute in a 3-2 victory over Otterbein and also has goals against Rose-Hulman (Ind.) and Muskingum.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
The Polar Bears ended the 2019 season 13-6-3 overall, finished third in the OAC with a 5-3-1 record and participated in NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament under interim head coach Chris Matejka.
