Levi King selected as OAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
By Blake Moore
ADA - Freshman midfielder Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) was named the OAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week recipient Monday afternoon with the announcement of the Ohio Athletic Conference's weekly award listings.
King put together a stellar week that included a team-high three assists and five points in the Polar Bears' 3-0 victory over D3soccer.com's No. 19-ranked Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops and their 4-2 triumph over the Oberlin Yeomen. The freshman also registered a goal and nine total shots over the two-match week.
The award marks the first time in his career that the Indianapolis native has garnered the weekly conference accolade.
King joins senior goalkeeper William Velotta (Gates Mills/Gilmour Academy), who was tabbed the league's Defensive Player of the Week on September 4, as the team's only Athlete of the Week award recipients to date in 2018.
The Polar Bears are scheduled to resume nonconference play on Tuesday, September 18 when they host Thomas More (Ky.) to wrap up a brief two-game home spell. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Kerscher Stadium in Ada.
