ADA -- Seniors Tommy Troy (Toledo/Central Catholic) and Nathan Libertowski (Medina/Medina) each scored in the second half to lift the No. 7-ranked men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Anderson (Ind.) Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-0-1 overall, while the Ravens fall to 5-3-0.
After a scoreless first half, Northern would strike twice in the second half to gain a 2-0 advantage.
In the 47th minute senior Austin Horton (Lewis Center/Olentangy) was able to find Libertowski for the first goal of the evening to give ONU the 1-0 lead.
The Polar Bears would add to their lead in the 72nd minute as Troy capitalized on a pass from senior Dustin Lorenzo (Sidney/Sidney) and found the back of the net to push the lead to 2-0.
Anderson would get one back in the 89th minute, but the Polar Bear defense proved to much as ONU went on to win 2-1.
Junior goalkeeper Dean McNeil (Medina/Medina) earned the victory in the goal for ONU and improved to 9-0-1, posting four saves.
Northern outshot Anderson by a 19-8 margin and won the corner kick battle by a 7-2 margin.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday evening as they play host to Manchester (Ind.) at 7 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
