ADA -- The Ohio Northern men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games Wednesday evening as they defeated Wittenberg 2-1 at Edwards-Maurer Field.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-0-0 on the year, while the Tigers fall to 1-1-0.
Senior David Janusz led the way for Northern offensively as he scored two goals on the evening.
Northern struck first in the 20th minute as senior Matt Kinkopf played a corner kick into the goalies box and Janusz found the back of the net with a header to give ONU the 1-0 lead.
Wittenberg was able to even the score in the 72nd minute as Northern scored an own goal.
Ohio Northern was able to score the game winner in the 83rd minute as Janusz received a pass from junior Chris Garbig and beat the Tigers keeper and seal the 2-1 victory.
Junior Dean McNeil earned the victory in the goal and improved to 4-0-0 on the season.
Northern outshot the Tigers by a 13-3 margin.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday as they travel to Wilmington to take on Albion (Mich.) in the Wilmington Invitational at 5 pm.
