Four named Academic All-Ohio in Men's Soccer

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team had four members selected as Academic All-Ohio in voting done by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA).
Sophomore Dean McNeil earned First Team honors for the Polar Bears, while Junior Brandon Homan and sophomore Chris Garbig claimed Second Team honors and senior Chad Smith was named Third Team Academic All-Ohio.
McNeil earns his first Acadeimc All-Ohio honor.
The mechanical engineering major has appeared in 36 career matches and is currently ranked third all-time in ONU school history in shutouts with 15.
Homan, a biochemistry/pre-medicine major, appeared in and started 23 matches last seson for ONU, scoring one goal and recording two assists.
The Napoleon native earns his first Academic All-Ohio accolade.
Garbig earns his first Academic All-Ohio honor.
The business management major has appeared in 40 career matches, scoring five goals and recording seven assists as a midfielder for ONU.
Smith, a biology major, has appeared in 92 career matches for ONU, recording four assists.
The Miamisburg native earns his third straight Academic All-Ohio honor.
Under head coach Brent Ridenour, Ohio Northern made its sixth NCAA Tournament appearance finishing the season with a 17-5-1 record and claimed the programs eighth OAC Regular Season Championship with an 8-1 mark in the OAC.
