ADA -- Junior Matt Kinkopf scores two goals to lead Ohio Northern men's soccer past Baldwin Wallace 3-0 on senior night at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 15-4-0 overall, 7-1-0, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-12-3, 1-6-1.
Prior to the contest Northern recognized seniors Chad Smith, Josh Long and Chase Mueller for their many contributions to the ONU men's soccer program.
Junior David Janusz struck first for the Polar Bears finding the back of the net off a header in the 29th minute to give ONU the early 1-0 advantage.
In the 35th minute, Kinkopf would receive a pass from sophomore Tommy Troy inside the 18 box to increase the Northern lead to 2-0.
The Polar Bear attack wasn't done as Kinkopf recorded his second goal of the night off a set piece from juniors Austin Horton and Janusz in the 54th minute to secure the 3-0 victory.
ONU out shot Baldwin Wallace in the contest 24-10 and edged them in corners by an 8-2 margin.
Sophomore, goalkeeper Dean McNeil recorded six saves, while picking up his 8th shutout of the season.
The Polar Bears conclude the regular season Saturday as they travel to Marietta to square-off with the Pioneers at 3:30 pm.
With a Polar Bear win on Saturday they will claim the OAC regular season crown and a first round bye in the OAC Tournament.
