BABSON, Mass. - The Ohio Northern men's soccer team fell to Babson 1-0 Sunday afternoon in double overtime at the Hartwell-Rogers Field on the campus of Babaon University.
The Polar Bears fall to 2-1-0 overall, while Babson moves to 2-1-0.
Northern was led in the contest by junior Matt Kinkopf who fired off a team-high four shots.
The Polar Bears dominated the first half out shooting the Beavers 9-5, seven of which were on goal.
Northern threatened late in the second half as sophomore Chris Garbig got a header in the 78th minute that was saved by the Babson goalkeeper.
ONU continued to pressure late in the half as junior David Janusz fired off another shot that was once again unsuccessful.
In the 105th minute of competition Kinkopf fired off a potential game winning shot that was once again saved by the Babson goalkeeper.
Babson scored the game winning goal in the 108th minute to win the game 1-0.
Northern out shot the Beavers 17-5 in the contest.
The Polar Bears return to action Wednesday as they play host to Wittemberg in their home opener.
