WHEATON, Mass. — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team defeated Wheaton (Mass.) 3-1 Saturday afternoon at the Keefe Field
The Polar Bears move to 2-0-0 overall, while the Lyons fall to 0-2-0 overall.
Junior Austin Horton led Northern recording two assists and scoring the games final goal.
Sophomore Chris Garbig struck first for the Polar Bears, scoring a goal in the 9th minute to give ONU the early 1-0 advantage.
Ohio Northern would strike again in the 65th minute as junior Patrick Sabol captialized off an assist from Horton to push the Polar Bear lead to 2-0.
Wheaton responded with a goal of its on in the 80th minute to pull within 2-1 before Horton recorded his first goal of the season.
Horton found the back of the net in the 85th minute off an assist from junior David Janusz.
Sophomore Dean McNeil moved to 2-0 on the season with the victory recording four saves.
The Polar Bears returns to action Sunday at Babson (Mass.)
