ALLIANCE - The Polar Bears defeated Mount Union Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium 3-1.
The Polar Bears were able to strike first as junior Dustin Lorenzo was able to capitalize on a penalty kick in the 28th minute.
Mount Union responded in the 37th minute as they also capitalized on a penalty kick from Jack Weber.
ONU outshot the Purple Raiders in the first half 12 to 4.
Ohio Northern was able to break the tie as senior Keegan Ross was able to capitalize in the 57th minute giving the Polar Bears a 2-0 lead.
The Polar Bears would score once more in the 62nd minute as freshman Chris Garbig was able to capitalize off an assist from Lorenzo.
Sophomore David Janusz had six shots in the game to lead the way for the Polar Bears.
ONU held the Raiders to just 7 shots on the game.
Ohio Northern is next in action Tuesday as they travel to Otterbein for a night game at Clements Field.
