DELWARE -- The No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team fell to No. 22-ranked Ohio Wesleyan 5-1 Wednesday night at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex.
The Polar Bears fall to 5-3-0 on the year while the Bishops improve their record to 4-2-1 on the year.
ONU found themselves in an early hole when the Bishops scored the first goal of the night in the third minute.
Northern would stifle the Wesleyan offense for the rest of the first half, keeping the game close at 1-0.
Ohio Wesleyan opened the game up as they scored the next four goals of the game, making the score 5-0.
The lone Polar Bear goal came from sophomore Patrick Sabol, as he gathered a loose ball from a corner kick and beat the goalie, making the score 5-1.
Freshman Dean McNeil recorded seven saves on the night for Northern.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot Ohio Northern 21-16 on the night.
Northern will return to action Saturday as they play host to Case Western Reserve at 7 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
