CRESTVIEW HILLS (Ky.) -- The No. 8 Ohio Northern men's soccer team fell in overtime by a 2-1 score to Thomas More (Ky.) on Saturday afternoon at the Bank of Kentucky Field.
The Polar Bears are now 6-2-0 on the season, while the Saints improve to 4-2-0.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half.
ONU struck first to take a 1-0 lead, when senior Jeremy Barnes converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute.
Thomas More would tie the match at 1-1 at the 72:37 mark on a header goal by Jack Little.
The match would move to overtime and sophomore Chase Mueller fired a shot in the 95th minute, but is was saved.
The Saints won it at the 99:02 mark on a goal by Dexter Morgan.
Freshman Matt Kinkopf took a team best two shots for the Polar Bears.
Freshman goalkeeper Evan Bader (6-2-0) made a career best seven saves.
Matt Kees made two stops for the Saints and is now 4-1-0.
Thomas More held a 19-5 advantage in shots and took nine on goal, compared to three for the Polar Bears.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Tuesday, when it hits the road to face off against Defiance at 4 pm.
