Men's Lacrosse falls on a late goal against Baldwin Wallace in outstanding OAC battle

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team fell to Baldwin Wallace 8-7 on a goal with 1:30 left to play on Wednesday night.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (6-4 Overall, 1-1 OAC), Baldwin Wallace (6-4 Overall, 2-0 OAC).

The Game
- Freshman Peyton Lich (Palmyra, N.Y./Macedon) had a career-high 17 saves to help the Polar Bears.
- Senior Alex Reimer (Lancaster, N.Y.) had two goals in the game.
- Senior Ian Roy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) had one goal and two assists to help ONU.
- Northern scored three consecutive goals to tie the game at 7-7 with 10:42 to play on a nifty goal by Reimer.
- Neither team could find the net until BW scored with 1:30 remaining to break the tie.
- ONU would get off three shots in the final 1:05, but could not get the equalizer and BW would hold on for the win.
- Roy started the scoring for the Polar Bears with a goal with 10:02 left in the first period.
- BW would score the next three goals before junior Colin Willits (West Chester/Lakota West) scored with 1:13 left in the first period to cut the lead to 4-2.
- The Yellow Jackets led 7-4 at halftime.
- The Polar Bears held Baldwin Wallace scoreless in the third period.
- Junior Nathan Flynn (Springboro) and senior Caleb Bennett (Stokesdale, N.C./Linganore) scored goals in the third period to bring ONU within 7-6.
- BW out-shot ONU 37-30 and had the ground balls advantage 38-21.
